Day 1 Panda House, Flying Kite, Practicing Calligraphy

Today, we will start a little early to the Panda House as the pandas are most active in the morning. You will see pandas being taken care of and fed with bamboos, fruits, cookies and other food, playing with each other, climbing on the trees, and rolling around on the ground. Next, we will head for the Olympic Parks to fly kites. There are all kinds of beautiful kites on sale in the park, you can just buy one and fly there. It would also be a great time for bounding between families. After the kite flying, you can take some amazing pictures of the park and marvel at the characteristic architectures built here.

With all the running and playing, you may get tired. Don’t worry, the next destination for you is the Yandai Xiejie where you can see a variety of restaurants, teahouses, stores, cafes, etc. We will choose a quiet teahouse and help you order a cup of nice tea. Our guide will also explain how to make and how to taste tea. If you get lucky, there will be tea performance, from which you can have a glimpse of the long tea culture in China. Afterwards, your lunch will be arranged.

Your afternoon will begin in a tranquil Hutong where see some old Beijing people still reside in. It’s a wonderful place to understand the old Beijing lifestyle and the classic residence of Siheyuan Courtyard. If you like, we can arrange a rickshaw for you. The riding lasts about 10 minutes, enough for you experience the authentic Hutong culture. Afterwards, we will enter a private yard and learn Chinese calligraphy with a calligraphy master. You will not only learn about the brush, ink, Chinese paper and inkstone, but have the chance to actually practice the Chinese characters. It will make a wonderful opportunity for you and your kids to understand the rich Chinese culture.




Our family day tour comes to an end by now, you will be escorted back to your hotel.
